Five things about Me
Hi Friends! I thought this would the perfect time to share some things about me and my family. Social media accounts are buzzing with bloggers posting 5 fun facts about themselves. I love this idea and am hopping on board! If you are new to the blog welcome and if you are a regular reader welcome back!
1. All the good stuff
There is me, my husband Clark and our 3 year old daughter, Avery. If you couldn’t tell by all my recent post we have another little lady on the way. She is set to make her arrival this April. We also have two fur pups Drake and Dakota. They are Portuguese Waterdogs and full of energy. Between them and our 3 year old our house can certainly feel like a zoo. There never is a dull moment but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way. I met my husband at my first (and only big girl job). *Fun fact he asked me on our first date over email to a Carolina Panthers football game.
2. Queen City Gal
I live in Charlotte, North Carolina and absolutely love it. What seems like 95% of Charlotte residents I was raised but not born here. My family moved here in the mid 90’s from the Northeast (along with everyone else). Growing up all most of friends were all fellow transplants from the North. My parents were sick of the New Jersey winters and when the opportunity to move south presented itself my parents took it. I am so glad they did. Charlotte can feel like a small town but with big town amenities. We have the best of everything. If you go west 2 hours you hit awesome mountain towns and if you go east 3 hours you visit the beach. There is something for everyone. I moved away for college but always knew I wanted to come back home to settle down. So here I am raising my little family :).
3. Party Time
I’ve always loved hosting and throwing parties and gatherings for friends and family. My obsession with DIYing was taken to a new level when Pinterest first came out. I love a good theme for any gathering and enjoy making all the details myself. I am too embarrassed to tell you how many boxes of mason jars, spray paint, burlap, ribbons, and homemade banners I have stashed around the house. It’s out of control. Lately I have learned to accept and reuse numerous party décor items (due to motherhood and running my business).
4. Bravo fan girl
From the hours of 9-11 pm you will find me two places, either editing photos or sitting on the couch/bed enjoying some me time. This me time (which is when I should be doing dishes or laundry, but that’s no fun) usually consists of a replay of one of my Bravo shows and me writing new posts or surfing the web for inspiration. I think Andy Cohen is a genius and I don’t know how he keeps coming up with new ridiculous shows that I get sucked into watching season over season but he does! I know it’s silly and mindless but gosh darn it l love me some Bravo celebrities. I mean we all need a little time to turn off our brains and watch see how the other half live in Beverly Hills.
5. Why I love what I do
Lastly and most importantly I want to say how thankful I am for the opportunity to have met all the amazing families through my photography business. I have always loved taking photos. I got my first digital point and shoot camera when I was 15 and my friends hated me when I took candid photos of us hanging out. Eventually I upgraded (a gift from husband) to my first DSLR. I took the leap to start my own business 2 years ago after lots of encouragement from my loved ones. I am so glad they pushed me. I now get to meet so many sweet families and capture portraits for them. Hopefully these image will live in their homes for years to come. I hope they can look back at their photos and l think about that time in their lives and a happy memory comes to mind. In the future I plan to help out other parents to capture day to day portraits of their families. 🙂 SO thanks for following along with me on this little journey and please know that it really does warm my heart that our path crosses (in person or virtually).
