Felder Family | Colonel Francis Beatty Park | Charlotte NC
Will, Chakiera, and their son Wyatt were such a pleasure to work with during their family portrait session! Funny story behind their session, we were scheduled for an earlier shoot but mother nature and the weathermen decided to play a prank on us. Charlotte, NC gets maybe one big snow storm a year with a few little furies here and there. Nothing to panic over except it was the original weekend we were supposed to meet. The news called for 10-12 inches and lots of ice. So to play it safe we rescheduled for a later date. We all went to bed with hopes of a blanket of snow everywhere when we woke up the next morning but… we peeped out of the window and there was nothing! The day before must’ve been a slow news day and the possibility of snow was all they could come up with. I chuckle about the snOMG that never happened.
We met the following weekend and it was much warmer, quite, and calm day at the park. It felt like everyone was still sleeping and coming down from the excitement of the “snow” from the weekend before. Colonel Francis Beatty Park is a lovely park with lots of great little nooks and cozy areas around the lake. If your lucky you can see a small intimate wedding taking place at the gazebo. The Felders made a great decision to meet there.
Wyatt, who recently turned one at the time of the session was such a ham! His smile is truly contagious and he lights up the room where ever he goes. And can we talk about those sweet precious curls, beautiful eyes, and long lashes?!! Such a handsome little guy. My favorite part of the session was watching them all interact as they let Wyatt explore the park. They chased after him, giggled, and laughed as he checked out the ducks, grass, flowers, and dirt (typical boy right?!). You could see how much his parents love him! They are head over heels for him. The hugs and kisses were so genuine and loving that I was honored to be able to capture these images for them. Enjoy!
