Super Easy and Budget Friendly DIY Thanksgiving and Fall Decorations
The holidays are quickly approaching and with a busy work and life schedule I am always looking for quick and easy ways to spruce up my home. I also would loveee to be able to walk into Home Goods or Pottery Barn and by whatever my heart pleases but unfortunately that just isn’t going to happen. I’ve gathered up some of my favorite tricks and tips on how to get the most bang for your buck on some simple décor. I don’t have time to create huge tablescapes or mantlescapes but I can throw together these touches. They are super easy and quick and still give your home a holiday feel.
Tip 1. Look for what you already have in your home and reuse/re-purpose.
Years ago I invested (spent $20 between Dollar Tree and Home goods/Ikea ) in clear glass vases. They vary in shape and size but are great for switching out small candles or floral arrangements. I think the differences in height and width add depth to your mantle or table.
Also look for other storage items that can be re-purposed. Have a large bread basket or bowl that can hold small pumpkins, pine cones or apples , use it! Stack up items in it and then becomes a focal point.
Tip 2. Hit up the big box stores and shop the dollar sections and special buy sections.
We all know Target has a great dollar section when you first walk in the store. I like to buy a few things each year from here to freshen up what I already own. Target does a great job at selling really relevant items that can be used season after season. I also like to shop at Walmart, Aldis, or Trader Joes for bags of small pie pumpkins or decorative gords. For a couple of bucks you can walk out with 10 small accent pumpkins or gords to weave into your tablescape or mantle. I love the color and dimension it adds.
Tip 3: Buy greenery or herbs that can be used for multiple purposes.
I am OBSESSED with Trader Joes stock and greenery section of their floral department .You can’t beat the selection and prices. In the fall they almost always have bunches of eucalyptus. They are so easy to use on a table, mantle or even in a floral arrangement. They also make your house smell great and last forever! I also love using herbs. Some simple ways to use them are with place cards for seating arrangement or tied around a nap or nap holder. Its a super easy touch to add more greenery to your table. I found this potted herb trio at Trader Joes and think it looks nice on its own. Plus side is I can use this for cooking as well!
Here are some of my favorite recent finds on Wayfair. Some I own personally (the candle and the dishtowels, and mugs) and others I think would look super cute in my home. I am loving the gold accents with neutral tones of the white pumpkins and the pop of blue accent color from the towels and buffalo check cozy blanket. Happy decorating!

I love Thanksgiving, and the decor. So often it gets skipped over or ignored. It’s a separate, special holiday that I wish got more attention.
